Jeff Urich, Secretary/Treasurer

Jeff was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was born-again at the age of 19, and his first church membership and baptism as a believer were at Indian Valley Faith Fellowship in Harleysville, Pennsylvania. Jeff and his wife Ann met in 1995 while attending Philadelphia Biblical University. They were married on December 15, 2001 in Westerlo, New York, and lived there until they moved to Alaska in 2007.
Jeff completed a two-year accounting degree in 1991, then worked in Souderton, PA until 1993. His first missionary experience was a short-term trip to St. Petersburg, Russia in 1994 with Eastern Mennonite Missions. After returning from Russia Jeff went to PBU and completed a bachelor degree in Biblical Studies in 1996. The Lord called him to use his interest in business administration on the mission field while attending PBU, so after graduating he entered corporate accounting in order to gain real-world experience and practical business knowledge. Jeff spent ten years working for telecommunications and cable companies in the Albany, NY area, and also served as Treasurer for the Helderberg Christian School board in upstate New York.
Before Jeff and Ann met, they each felt called to the mission field, so when they got married they planned to one day become missionaries. In the summer of 2003, they took their first big vacation as a married couple to Alaska. It was during that trip that they first learned about Alaska Native culture and traditions. The Lord called them to Alaska during that trip, so they began making plans to become Alaskan missionaries. They have been in Alaska since November of 2007, and have just purchased their first home in Copper Center.
The Lord has blessed Jeff and Ann with many opportunities to use their gifts and abilities in various ministries. In addition to Tundra Wings, Jeff is serving with a new Native-led ministry called Alaska Freedom Journey. They are also doing work for the local native village of Kluti-Kaah. Jeff is helping out with their accounting needs and Ann is using her counseling background to provide parenting training for local families. They attend church at Tazlina Fellowship in Tazlina, Alaska. Jeff is continuing his education through distance-learning to complete a bachelor degree in finance from Empire State College in New York. We are in the process of adopting our first child...a little girl from China!
