The vision of Tundra Wings is to develop a regular ministry to a small group of remote Alaskan villages that have no consistent Christian witness or active church fellowship. Tundra Wings and its local partners would adopt several villages, committing to focus our resources on regular monthly or bimonthly ministry trips, communicating through word and deed the love and care of Jesus Christ. Part of this ministry would be to encourage pastors and believers living in other isolated villages along the way, flying in supplies, assisting in their vision and work projects where we could or helping them to reach out to others who need encouragement.
Tundra Wings has a strategic advantage in that we are located at the Gulkana airport, which puts us in reach of hundreds of villages without having to drive 200 miles to Anchorage or 250 miles to Fairbanks, where most village flights originate. This opens up ministry opportunities to local churches in the Copper River Valley because Tundra Wings is accessible, and they will not bear the additional time or expense of road trips to the cities.
